- ADAPT (Association of Doctors for Advancing Physically-active Transportation) aims to prevent rather than react to health problems in light of increasing rates of obesity, chronic disease, and poor air quality. ADAPT recognizes that built environments, which directly encourage walking, cycling, and other forms of active transportation are necessary to improve the health of our communities. The 40 ADAPT members throughout Nova Scotia support the development of infrastructure (e.g., bikeways, multi-use paths, etc.)for AT.
