Recreation Nova Scotia

Recreation Nova Scotia Logo

Recreation Nova Scotia (RNS) has a long history of being capacity builders, advocates, and resource brokers for the use of trails, active living, and environmental stewardship. In the 1990’s RNS published Rails to Trails, the Parks and Open Space Resource Guide, and The Skateboard Resource Manual. From 1994-2006, Recreation Nova Scotia (formally RANS) managed the Nova Scotia Go for Green Fund which provided funding to communities and organizations for AT-related projects. The RNS Active Transportation Strategy, approved in 2006, includes investing in the resources and interventions needed to promote and advance Active Transportation, and also facilitating and supporting the capacity building of others.
