The Yarmouth County AT Committee was formed in the Spring of 2008, following a gathering of community stakeholders for a Community AT Workshop. Their focus includes:
Educating the community on the benefits of AT through media, workshops, presentations, and events.
Creating partnerships/communication with community groups & schools, workplaces, decision-makers.
Advocating for AT policy/infrastructure
• Celebrate AT successes
• Develop community AT leaders
Assessing comunities in Yarmouth County for their AT strenghts and challenges, in terms of infrastructure, policy and partnerships.
The Town of Yarmouth has also formed a committee to look at possible developing an formal AT plan for the Town.
