Cape Breton Regional Municipality

Established an AT committee consisting of municipal and non-government parties and have hired consultants to develop policy recommendations. The work of the At plan hinges on external funding and the projects will be completed in stages. Many of the projects listed below will be partnerships with Atlantic Coastal Action Program (ACAP):

  • work on Rural trails Strategy the includes completion of Trans Canda Trail between North Sydney and Grand Narrows
  • events and prgrams to encourage walking and cycling
  • partnering with major regional employers to shift travel behaviour towards greater use of AT
  • installing bike racks on busses and getting police officers on bikes
