Recreation Nova Scotia

Recreation Nova Scotia Logo

This non-profit provincial organization is dedicated to building and sustaining active healthy lifestyles and communities in Nova Scotia. Injury prevention information is available and has been incorporated into their programs and services. Safety tips are included in the Recreation Nova Scotia (RNS) social marketing campaigns – Take the Roof Off Winter and June is Recreation Month – Live It Everyday. RNS offers workshops and seminars on risk management at its annual conference. They also coordinate and promote the Canadian Parks and Recreation Association’s Making All Recreation Safe (MARS) toolkit and Canadian Playground Safety Institute (CPSI) courses in Nova Scotia. HIGH FIVE is one of Recreation Nova Scotia’s largest programs and is built on the principle of safety. Designed to support the healthy development of children in sport and recreation programs, HIGH FIVE is a valuable source of tools, training, and resources that lead to excellence in children’s programming.
